Don’t you understand this is war?

A war I know I cannot win all on my own

Fear

I can feel the talons digging at my flesh

The demons surround me

Influence my mind can’t suppress

Vindicate me, Lord

I’ve walked in integrity

And I trust You

Without wavering

Holy angels counterstrike

Their wondrous might staggers the fallen ones

The demons recover, attack again

The battle has begun

Caught in the middle of this conflict

I cannot run or hide

This is a holy war

And my soul’s on the line

Each time I shake one off

Another digs its claws into my back

My will is broken, my soul decayed

My body’s shattered, I can’t fight back

But I know You will fight for me today

As the battle rages on and on

I wonder what I’m fighting for

When my sword has broken off in my hand

And I feel like I can’t fight anymore

Father, I know You will win this holy war
